Yuma Public Works

The Yuma County Public Works Facility entailed the Master Planning, Design & Documentation of a 40-acre site to include administrative offices, (5,000 sq. ft); a public works training center, FEMA emergency center, and construction shops (18,000 sq. ft); and a vehicle maintenance facility with 14 bays and an underground lube pit (19,200 sq. ft).

Off-site work included extension of the City water main, and a new yumaway for access. On-site work included parking for heavy vehicles, wash rack, and fueling island.

“State of the Art” lubrication management system, fueling management system, HVAC, electrical & communications systems were incorporated into the design of the project to create the most modern vehicle maintenance facility possible.

Phase I master planning, initial concepts and schematic design were completed in 1999 with a budget of $4,565,000. Phase II included documentation, bidding and construction administration. Project construction was completed in June 2003 at a final cost of $3,870,000.
