Revitalization of downtown Tucson and the Broadway Corridor was the focus of this comprehensive Master Plan for the City of Tucson.

Through a series of public design charettes; public hearings with special interest groups, neighborhoods, and the general public; study sessions with the Mayor, City Manager, city staff and Rio Nuevo Board; and meetings with the Citizens approval committee and local designers this plan was developed.

The program is based on a combination of factors including physical and economic determinates, historic and cultural themes and neighborhood and other public input.
The final plan provided guidelines for residential, commercial, civic and museum projects linked by shaded, green plazas connecting cultural, civic, entertainment and business uses that are interwoven throughout the Rio Nuevo District. This intense study was completed in 6 months.
