Grant Road Historic Survey
The Grant Road Historic Survey is part of the City of Tucson Transportation Department’s study to lay the groundwork for the Grant Road Improvement Project. The improvement of this major cross town road included the stretch between Oracle Road to Swan Road. The end result of the road improvement will be the widening of Grant Rd. from four travel lanes to six and the enhancement of bicycle lanes and pedestrian walks. We mapped the properties that were identified as being eligible to contribute to a National Register historic district. A State of Arizona Historic Property (SHPO) Inventory form was used in the analysis of each of these properties. The properties identified helped assist the City of Tucson in determining the final alignment of the Grant Road Improvement Project.
